Ulverstone is a town located on the North West Coast of Tasmania. A variety of small coffee shops and eateries can be found throughout the town, but if you’re keen to get away from the crowd, maybe try stepping out of the centre. There’s a little blue hut on the corner of Beach Road and Victoria Street in Ulverstone.
If you’re looking for a small, intimate, beachy atmosphere I strongly recommend visiting Beach Hut Coffee. A family and dog friendly cafe with great customer service. The location is a winner, it’s tucked away from the rest of the world and a one minute walk from a beach entrance, walking track, playground, BBQ area and also the Ulverstone Waterslide. The ultimate place to kick back and relax after a leisurely walk along the beach or the walking track.
While I was sitting outside in the courtyard eating my Japanese bowl, I felt like I was sitting on the edge of the earth. The Japanese Bowl was fresh, full of vegetables, chunky succulent pieces of chicken and the pickled cucumber slices satisfied my salty taste buds. The combination of everything – the stunning location, delicious food and a bright blue sky took my mind elsewhere.
If you go, I’d highly recommend sitting outside in the courtyard – I haven’t sat inside yet because I love being outside (I have now been there twice). I know, I know, I’m a courtyard hog. The courtyard benches are not crammed together like sardines, each bench has its own space.
For those of you who haven’t visited Beach Hut Coffee before, perhaps add Beach Hut Coffee to your list.
