“Life is full of moments. My blog site will be a little bit of this and that.”
To keep my memories, random thoughts and ideas alive I’ve decided to start a blog to share my life and randomness with the world, adding my personal touch of quirkiness and creativity. – Yes, I wear odd socks and have worn my PJ’s to a University tutorial as part of my assignment!
So…who am I and what am I planning to do with my blog?
Hi friends! I’m Tara and I’m from Tasmania. I moved to Melbourne to study Public Relations at Deakin University. As a PR student, I have created blog posts in the past but I think it’s time for me to take my blogging to the next level and explore the art of blogging and see where it takes me.
Okay, here I go.
To be honest, I really can’t tell you exactly what I’m going to write about. I’m the sort of person who likes ‘the unknown’ and would rather just see what happens (don’t worry, the rest of my life is run by timetables and diaries!). However, a few topics I’m passionate about are: art and culture, dance, social media, reputation, public relations and communication. Oh, I’m also a massive foodie and will probably write a blog post or ten about the things I’ve whipped up in the kitchen.
Through my blog site, I hope to engage with others on a personal level, writing about my journey so far and topics I’m passionate about. I am a second year PR student and throughout my course we have studied social media and last Trimester one unit specifically focused on blogging. We were required to write a blog post each week and I enjoyed it. I liked the freedom I had with blogging, compared to essay and report writing. I’m a creative student who likes to write both analytical and reflective pieces. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing essays, especially research essays…this will most likely be evident in some of my blogs! – I enjoy researching topics I’m passionate about. University has also taught me not to be afraid of scholarly articles and this is where I find most of my favourite research.
I have also taken a couple of Journalism units and really enjoyed creating video stories and exploring photojournalism. If the hour glass isn’t working against me, I hope to create multimedia blog posts too. I have a passion for creating online content. I want to use my blog as a giant envelope to store all my ideas addressed to the online world. Or like that box we all have that is used to keep random things.
